Results of the Tenth Anniversary International Forum and Exhibition Transport Of Russia.

December 2 was the last day of the Tenth Anniversary International Forum and Exhibition Transport of Russia held in Moscow within the framework of Transport Week – 2016.

Leading companies of the industry presented their innovative developments on the exhibition area of 3,700 sq.m. A large-scale exposition demonstrated the progress made in implementation of projects in the field of railway, road, air, sea and river transport, as well as road management. The opening ceremony was attended by Sergey Ivanov, Special Representative of the President of Russia for Environmental Protection, Ecology and Transport, and Maksim Sokolov, Russian Minister of Transport. The honorable guests were acquainted with the stands of the Russian Ministry of Transport, Port Management Company, Rosmorport, RZD, Uralvagonzavod, Sheremetyevo International Airport, Transcontainer, State Transport University and other.

On November 30, Maksim Sokolov participated in an open discussion. The Minister told about significant projects, such as Safe and High-Quality Roads, Kerch Strait Bridge construction, reconstruction of the Baikal-Amur and Trans-Siberian Mainline Railways, spoke about the importance and success of multimodal transportation citing the example of Moscow Central Ring, St. Petersburg transport hub and about the implementation of public-private partnership projects in Russia. During the meeting, Deputy Ministers of Transport responded to questions from the moderator and the audience.

Business Breakfast by the Minister of Transport has become a traditional format. The participants discussed the issues related to the relations between the State and business while implementing PPP projects in the field of transport infrastructure construction. One of the main events of the Forum was a plenary session Transport of Russia. What Future Lies Ahead devoted to key priorities of Russian transportation development up to the year 2030. Other topics touched upon were the functioning of GLONASS ERA system in Russia and the issues related to Moscow-Kazan HSN construction.

Moreover, business programme of the Forum included a series of industry conferences on the development of basic forms of communication, including air, water, automobile and other means of transportation. Special attention was paid to unmanned transport and its future in Russia. Thus, during the round table Unmanned Transport Systems: Technology, Management, Economics, the participants discussed legal aspects of the use of unmanned transport on Russian roads and told about the first projects implemented with the use of unmanned railway transport.

Four round table discussions were devoted to the issued related to the preparation of Russian infrastructure for the World Cup 2018. Heads of Russian airports reported on the progress in reconstruction of central aviation complexes.

On the final day of the Tenth Anniversary International Forum and Exhibition Transport of Russia, the exposition was visited by Dmitriy Medvedev, Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation, accompanied by Arkadiy Dvorkovich, Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation, Maksim Sokolov, Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation, Denis Manturov, Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, and Oleg Belozerov, President of RZD. The tour was followed by a meeting on the prospects of railway industry. The participants discussed the financial plan and investment programme of JSC Russian Railways for 2017-2019.

Moreover, that day, a presentation of HSN Moscow-Kazan was held, during which Aleksandr Misharin, First Vice-President of RZD, spoke about the company’s plans to build a global transport corridor between Europe and Asia, that will create a single traffic artery and improve transport accessibility for residents of the two parts of the world.

The final and very successful event of the conference and exhibition was the Fourth Transport Education Forum, which discussed the creation of Russian Transport University and a draft Concept of transport education development in Russia up to the year 2030.

Within the framework of the Forum, 17 agreements of strategic importance and memorandums were signed.

In the course of the work of the Tenth International Forum and Exhibition Transport of Russia, 31 business formats with the participation of 297 speakers and 2600 delegates from Russia and 40 countries of near and far abroad were held. The exhibition was visited by than 8000 people and covered by 470 journalists from 325 media sources.
